Artist bio

I’m a designer and photographer who made Australia my home over 30 years ago. I pursued my passion for art and photography through school, eventually earning a Bachelor of Design specializing in Graphics/Media from UNSW’s prestigious College of Fine Arts. Throughout my career, I’ve held various creative roles both overseas and in Australia, where I’ve had the opportunity to lead and mentor creative teams. In 2002, I returned to UNSW to run their internal Creative Studio, The Fridge, and taking on teaching roles in Bachelor and Masters of Design programs. Following a period as a Creative Director in the private sector, I established my own design studio in 2009. For over a decade, I provided creative solutions and commercial photography services to a diverse range of clients, from micro-businesses to large multinational corporations. In 2019 I closed my studio and returned to formal employment to gain some work-life balance and focus on photography and travel.

I believe art is an important part of our lives because...

these works honour the lives cut short by us humans and our impact on our native fauna. In returning these birds to fragments of their habitat in death, the work becomes both an apology and a commentary. These images ask the viewer to reflect on the consequences of our own actions and at the same time challenges them to see the beauty in these subjects that can be both uncomfortable and confronting.
