Suzanne produces original contemporary and decorative artwork. Her medium is mainly oil on stretched canvas.
Suzanne creates her designs from her imagination and by idly doodling on a pad. She enjoys using random elements in her creations to find a new effect. Suzanne then transfers these designs to canvas and uses bright colours to enhance the ideas.
For Suzanne’s contemporary pieces she uses inspiration from every day occurrences. She captures a moment in time on her camera. Using her computer to create enlarged printouts she then transfers the image to canvas.
Suzanne has been interested in drawing and painting from a young age and always aspired to become a full time Professional Artist. Artists that have influenced her are Kandinsky, Monet, Picasso, Van Gogh, Gauguin and Cezanne. The use of colour and form by these artists has inspired Suzanne. Colour in particular has always interested her and she enjoys how it captures the attention of the viewer.
I create art because...
I like to create images with bright colours. I enjoy creating what comes to my mind as a picture and then transferring it to paper or to canvas. The images are inside my mind and I need to make them visible to other people. Sometimes the images are not replicated correctly how I intended, however I enjoy the process and I like when it turns out better than I imagined!
I am different to most artists because...
I like to explore my mind and the images that I can imagine. I do not like to copy exactly what I see in front of me in real life, it has to be somehow different. I am not a realist painter, I like imagination. There is always something of me in every artwork that I do.
When you look at my art, the thing I want you to feel is...
Interest, imagination, and happiness.
The thing I most want to say to non-artists is...
Imagine while you look at my paintings.
I believe art is an important part of our lives because...
It brings colour to a room, interest too, and also imagination!
