June 2021 at Waterman Chadstone (at Waterman Chadstone)

Option 1 for Waterman Chadstone This exhibition of three paintings displays the variety of artwork that can be produced within the contemporary abstract expressionistic style. As shown by Rose Marshall's "Blue and White" and Sharmain Lowe's "Ying" and "Yang", are psychological landscapes that focus on the extreme of on light and dark tones throughout the canvases. Marshall's work lacks the energetic intensity and bold brush work seen in Love's paintings though all display a non-objective dynamic appearance. Option 2 for Waterman Chadstone This exhibition explore how we receive and understand information. In Gayle Shifrin's "Evidence 1" is a collage exploring the language of identity as in Alex Bridge's "Blue Note 1" and "Blue Note 2", he examines the state of mind. These pieces, as a whole, look at the way we think about information and process it to understand what is occurring at that particular point in time. Should our curiosity be piqued, we look to further investigate the details of the situation.
